Stacey came to us in 2010 with 12 years of previous management experience. She helps keep us running smoothly by creating systems and procedures that enhance our patient’s experiences and simplify our lives. These systems and procedures provide you, the patient, with streamlined, efficient, up to date, and superior services. As Dr. Cohen's primary assistant, Gabby is the friendly face you see in the exam room prior to Dr. Cohen going in. Gabby assists all of our doctors with procedures and has been in the medical field since 2008, breaking ground in the world of orthopedics in 2016 and loving it. She applies casts and splints, performs wound care and suture removal, and fills out all work and disability forms. She keeps the flow going for patients, making sure they are seen in a timely manner. She enjoys the fast-paced office environment while engaging in one-on-one patient care.
At the end of your appointment with us you will meet Mo. Mo has a diverse background working many years as a director, in retail and management, customer service, and in health and wellness. Equally as diverse as her background are her roles in the office. From scheduling patients to checking out patients, Mo brings a smile to the job. She is enthusiastic about our patients and goes beyond to ensure you have a good experience through the final moments of your time with us.
Nancy came to us in 2009 with an extensive background in project management, planning, and proofreading. She is the Assistant to the Practice Administrator, as well as our Medical Reporting and Transcription Supervisor and Med-Legal Manager. In addition to preparing and overseeing our daily reporting, she handles all of the doctors’ Med-Legal/Expert Witness work, and is the liaison between the doctors and the Plaintiff and Defense attorneys who retain them. Her attention to detail, compassion, and meticulous work ethic help to ensure that we deliver the highest degree of care and service.
Norma is the friendly voice you hear on the other end of the line when you have appointment or surgical billing questions. She has worked closely with Dr. Cohen since 2001 and entered her career in medicine as an occupational therapy aide. Norma understands the intricacies of the practice and insurance billing. When you are in need of surgery she will walk you through the steps and make every aspect of your surgical experience as easy as possible. She is always in the office or just a phone call away to gladly answer any billing questions that you may have.
Pete came to our office with previous management experience and a keen eye for finance. You can find Pete in the billing department. He processes all insurance bills and handles all insurance appeals. If you have ever gotten frustrated calling your health insurance company, you would understand what Pete goes through every day! He continues to handle all patient and insurance calls with a smile on his face as his goal is to help our patients understand their bills and the insurance company understand our claims.
Pegah joined our team in 2020 after graduating from University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Psychology. She has been working in the medical field for the past several years as a medical assistant and as an EMT. She has experience in urgent care and orthopedic offices. Pegah enjoys taking care of patients and she hopes to pursue a further career in medicine by studying to become a Physician Assistant. She is currently the primary medical assistant for Dr. Thakral and Dr. Rudin and she also assists Dr. Cohen's patients by casting them. Her favorite thing to do is to design custom casts per patient requests, so ask her if you want a special design!!! Pegah likes making patients feel comfortable and translating for patients if need be. In addition to English, she speaks Farsi, Spanish, and Hebrew, so let her know if you feel more comfortable speaking in a different language.
Jaime joined our team in 2020 with 10 years of customer service experience and multiple years of management under her belt. She is now our daily Workers Compensation coordinator, but she also helps wherever needed. You may catch her at the front desk when you come in, hear her lively, energetic, and helpful voice at the other end of the phone when you call, or even find her helping out in the billing department. Jaime’s customer service background and truly caring nature makes her a great asset to our team.
With 5 years of experience in customer relations, Erica believes the patient always comes first! Her enjoyment of the medical field, as well as her desire to help people, provides our patients with the best possible experience as they walk through our doors. You’ll find her smile a warm welcome as you enter our busy medical office. All of the daily patient charts, used by our doctors, including our patients’ previous and current medical conditions, exams, testing, and overall medical history, are handled by Erica’s efficient and attentive eye for detail.
