Thank you for choosing Dr. Glenn Cohen for your upper extremity needs. Dr. Cohen is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and holds a CAQ in Hand Surgery. We strive to make your experience a positive one and leave feeling confident that you are in the best of care.

We have attached a list of local hotel recommendations in the area. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help or any questions you may have.

Specialty Surgical Center – Westlake Village

Your surgery will be at Specialty Surgical Center. This is a multi-specialty surgical center equipped with 6 operating rooms, beautiful waiting area and top-knotch care by our incredible nursing staff and surgical team. They are trained with your convenience in mind and designed to feel comfortable every step of the way. Dr. Cohen expects nothing less than perfection in and out of the office. He has been performing surgery at Specialty Surgical Center for over 20 years.

No matter where you are traveling from, near or far, it is highly recommended that you bring a friend or relative to accompany you to and from your surgery. We suggest that this person stay with you the first night after surgery and bring you to our office the following day for the post-op appointment. Dr. Cohen requires most patients to stay at least one night in town for initial care/hand therapy during your immediate recovery period. We also have a recovery retreat for your convenience that has around the clock care conveniently located in the same building as our office and the surgery center.

Depending on the procedure/treatment required, any additional testing and recovery time, you may need to consider an extended stay. Based on our pre-appointment consulting with you, we’ll be able to give you an approximation of the likely time-frames involved. However, it is the nature of surgery and/or treatment that there could be complications or unforeseen situations which could result in a longer recovery time and the need to stay longer than the previous time being recommended.

If you will be visiting from outside of the United States for the purpose of a having a medical procedure done, you will likely require a “B-2 Visa for U.S. Medical Treatment”. There are a number of requirements including providing evidence that a procedure is needed and that medical and travel expenses can be paid for. Our offices will be able to provide you with any letters you require from the treating physician to corroborate the surgical need.

We will need to review your medical records for our initial evaluation and prior to your visit. Depending on what form your records are in (e.g. paper, electronic), you may need to fax, mail, or email them to us.
